Welcome
I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in relationship difficulties, identity concerns, mood management, trauma, women's health, and substance misuse. I view the relationship between therapist and client as collaborative. When occurring in a safe, non-judgmental, warm environment this relationship allows the therapy to be both profoundly exploratory and effective. It is my belief that a successful therapy must honor the whole individual, recognizing social factors, cultural context, racial and ethnic identities, sexual orientation, and familial roles. While I primarily work from a psychodynamic (insight-oriented) approach I also have specialized training in Family Systems Therapy as well as other more structured techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). This allows me to specifically address a wide variety of therapeutic needs in an individualized manner, ranging from problem focused brief therapy to longer-term exploratory and/or supportive involvement.
I received my doctorate in psychology from the highly regarded clinical program at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. I have trained at various hospitals and universities, including Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, St. Luke's Roosevelt Addiction Institute of New York, King's County Hospital Center, and the Counseling and Wellness Service at NYU. I have practiced clinically for 7 years and have worked as an individual, couples, family, and group therapist.
